Blog Post Prompt #1

I read the blog regarding Bruce Schneier for this assignment. I found it ironic that he was reluctant to switch his monthly email to a blog because he wanted to make sure he had time to research his stories and make them the way he wanted them to look but then realized that the sooner you get the story out the more relevant it becomes. He evolved his monthly email from his primary focus with the blog posts being supplemental to becoming a collection of his blog posts. As time wore on and he began to see that speed is what matters when it comes to news stories he started to post more and more frequently. As compared to some blogs, Schneier seems that he does not want to benefit in any way besides getting his story out and informing people. He is very nonchalant about how serious he takes the blog, where it doesn't seem to be his life, just a hobby. Overall it just seemed to me like he evolved from a simple reader of weblogs and sending his emails into what most bloggers today are: people who want to voice their opinions without much incentive other than to get out there and have a voice.
